SERVE: small groups - getting to know and work with a small group of young people
Expectations
--lead regular gatherings of small groups through conversations outlined in the curriculum
--build relationships with the young people in the group
--pray for the young people in your group
--communicate with the staff member responsible for the program about joys and concerns
--love the young people who are in your care
--participate in our training and support meetings and resources

SERVE: large group - teaching a large group of young people
Expectations
--teach the content portion of the curriculum to a large group of young people
--direct the flow of the large group session
--be available to lead on a monthly basis
--be adaptable
--participate in training and support events for our ministry leaders
--communicate with staff your joys and concerns
--pray for the young people with whom you work

SERVE: hospitality - creating a welcoming atmosphere at ministry events
Expectations
--work with lord of life staff to create a plan for welcoming young people to ministry events or programs
--help to prepare the space to create a hospitable environment in advance of the event
--help to prepare and serve any food that might be a part of the event
--work to build relationships with young people and their families to facilitate a welcoming environment
--assist with cleaning up hospitality elements following the event or program

SERVE: tech - creating and running the media and technology that allow us to communicate to large groups
Expectations
--work with lord of life staff to create a tech plan for events and ministries
--work with musicians to ensure that their audio and visual needs are understood and appropriate materials and equipment are ready
--participate in music rehearsals as needed
--run the technology at ministry events and programs
--be familiar with the congregation’s audio systems and powerpoint/video systems
--be able to “go with the flow”

SERVE: music - leading music that creates worship and and community experiences
Expectations
--be a part of a music team that works to set a tone of energy and participation through music at ministry events or programs
--be prepared to play an instrument and/or serve as a vocalist
--meet as needed to rehearse and prepare
--use music as a tool to assist in events and programs meeting their goals
--be able to “go with the flow”

SERVE: prepare - working behind the scenes to help prepare for events and ministries
Expectations
--be a part of a team that meets monthly to do the “behind the scenes” preparation of materials used in events and programs
--or, take materials home to help prepare for events and programs

SERVE: drive - safely moving groups of young people from place to place
Expectations
--be available to drive groups to ministry sites on a lord of life bus
--maintain all of the necessary licensing and driver requirements to be able to drive our bus
--have the bus prepared and ready to go at the time the group is ready to leave
--after the trip, make sure the bus is swept out and ready for the next group

--set a schedule for when you are able to assist

--be a welcoming and hospitable presence in the children, youth and family ministry offices for visitors and guests
